On 10 August, the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) together with the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) will co-host a joint forum in New Delhi entitled ‘Preventing Sexual Harassment in Supply Chains’ for the producers of their member companies. This forum aims to support producers in their efforts to build strong systems to address and end violence against women at the factory level.
The forum will complements planned efforts of FTA/BSCI and FWF to combat violence against women in supply chains. It is designed to:
- Provide information about legal implications and effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
- Facilitate an environment for peer-to-peer learning to ensure safe work places for all workers.
- Provide a platform for FTA/BSCI and FWF member companies to address challenges faced in implementation of the Act and explore solutions.
- Share information on FTA/BSCI's new grievance mechanism tool available to members, stakeholders and producers.
