Apply now! The amfori Board of Directors plays a vital role in the corporate governance of amfori, guiding its developments and ultimately making decisions that can have positive impact to all amfori members and the future of open and sustainable trade.

We need members in the Board of Directors that can make a difference to amfori, that share amfori’s vision and that are ready to succeed in the challenges that lie ahead.

Vacancies

At present, the Board of Directors is composed of 8 Board members. The amfori bylaws allow for up to 10 Board members (art. 20 bylaws)

Seven Board members have a mandate that in principle runs to the general assembly of 2022: Anke Ehlers, Herman Poelmann, Laurent Francony, Lea Rankinen, Leon Mol, Sara Norell Murberger, and Veronika Pountcheva.

In 2021, there will be three vacant seats for the amfori Board.

Timeline

The timeline for the election of those vacant seats is as follows:

-       1 March 2021: the opening of the period in which Board member candidacies can be proposed

-       16 April 2021 (23:59 CEST): closing of the period in which Board member candidacies can be proposed

-       19 May – 16 June 2021: list of eligible candidates visible online

-       19 May 2021: an invitation to the General Assembly is sent to all (ordinary) members and includes the list of candidates eligible for Board membership

-       16 June 2021: General Assembly, with a.o. election of new board members

All submitted applications may still be edited at any point in time before midnight on 16 April 2021 (Brussels time). Afterwards, no changes are possible.

We ask for:

We ask for (a) some basic information and (b) contact details, as well as (c) your motivation to join the amfori Board of Directors, (d) information to check eligibility such as link to an ordinary amfori member, a senior executive position and expertise in amfori services and (e) information that is relevant for the general assembly to assess the diversity in the Board of Directors.

The information will be processed by amfori to handle your candidacy and kept as a corporate document in accordance with the Belgian Code on Companies and Associations (in principle up to 5 years after the unwinding of the association).

The information under (a), (c) and (e) will be shared with the members of amfori so they can assess your candidacy and vote in the general assembly. As amfori has members outside of the European Union, this means that this information (based on art. 49 §1 b GDPR) is transferred outside of the EU where the rules on data protection are not as stringent as in the EU. If elected, basic information may be published in the Belgian Official Journal and on the amfori website.

You have the rights as a data subject foreseen in the GDPR (chapter III), which include amongst other the right to access your data.
