Roundtable: The Future of EU-China Commerce: Protectionism, Reciprocity or Opening?

amfori, together with the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC / CCPIT), will organise the Roundtable ‘The Future of EU-China Commerce: Protectionism, Reciprocity or Opening?’

Date: 16 January 2018
Time: 12:00 - 14:00
Location: amfori Headquarters, avenue de Cortenbergh 172, Brussels 1000

Despite the ever-growing economic interdependency between the EU and China, there is an overall lack of strategic vision for cooperation. The relations between the countries are undergoing a challenging period for several reasons, including; the EU’s new trade defence regime, investment screening, the stalled investment talks, coupled with ‘promise fatigue’ and unmet market opening pledges by China.

This Roundtable debate will examine:

  • The significance of EU-China trade relations for the economic growth of both parties.
  • Business challenges in both the EU and China.
  • The potential for stronger economic cooperation in the future.

Join us to examine how the importance of bilateral trade between EU and China could be translated into stronger cooperation and a higher level of optimism.

We invite all interested participants to register their interest in the registration form below. Please note that participation is confirmed upon receipt of a confirmation email.
