amfori Addresses Cambodia Government on EBA Status

A letter, sent to the Cambodian government on 4 April, addresses the human and labour rights violations that resulted in the European Commission initiating an investigation to determine whether the trade preferences afforded to the country under the Everything But Arms (EBA) system should be removed. Similar concerns by US Congress could also mean similar action will be taken by the US.

The letter highlights the advantages Cambodia enjoys as a result of EU imports of clothing, footwear and travel goods being exempt from duties and urges the government to enact the changes necessary to retain these.
