On the 5th of June, people around the globe will be observing World Environment Day. We will take a moment to honour nature and the importance to protect it as best we can. While the COVID-19 pandemic has been the focus of our attention of the last 18 months, we know that climate change remains the biggest concern for the public as evidenced by several polls. Moreover, there is further cause for concern in the months ahead as we move out of lock-down situations, try to make up for lost economic activities, and rejuvenate the global economy.
On this occasion, amfori and myclimate would like to announce the signing of an agreement to advance their commitment to climate action.
The agreement encompasses a number of mutual objectives to introduce resource efficiency and climate protection to amfori and its member businesses. amfori and myclimate both want to pursue a supportive environment to establish a greater network in favour of climate protection. Both parties recognize the importance of improving sustainability measures in global supply chains as stipulated by the relevant UN Declarations, the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
amfori is the world’s leading business association for open and sustainable trade. Its mission is to enable organisations to enhance human prosperity, use natural resources responsibly and drive open trade globally.
