amfori and SLCP: Increase impact on working conditions in the supply chain

In 2020, amfori is pleased to announce our memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP).  SLCP is an operational implementation program, which aims to create an efficient, scalable and sustainable solution for social audits.

amfori and SLCP recognise the potential benefits of greater collaboration as we both share a common objective to eliminate audit duplication through trusted verified data exchange, enabling a redirection of resources to have higher impact on working conditions in the supply chain.

The purpose of the MoU is to further explore collaboration and promote cooperation between amfori and SLCP for the development and execution of a three-year plan.

“I am very happy to be working together with SLCP; this collaboration fully aligns with our vision and feeds into the aspirations that we hold as our core values as an association. By joining forces with SCLP we have to opportunity to increase social audit efficiency and increase the impact on working conditions in the supply chain. We are very much looking forward to moving forward together and strengthening our partnership in the coming years.”

Christian Ewert, President, amfori

“I am delighted to share this news and am sure many stakeholders will be pleased to hear that collaboration between amfori and SLCP is moving forward in this way. This collaboration holds a tremendous opportunity for streamlining social audits. Redirecting resources from audits to have impact on working conditions is at the heart of both our organizations. Working together can but make us more effective. Now that we have signed the MoU, we can get started on our three-year plan to extend our collaboration and we will report back regularly on progress.”
