In December, amfori participated in public consultations held by the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) of the Consumer Goods Forum.
The overall purpose of the SSCI is to establish a benchmarking system between social compliance initiatives in order to build trust in third-party auditing and certification schemes.
The public consultations run by the SSCI in the last quarter of 2020 focused on primary production activities such as agriculture and aquaculture.
Together with other 67 schemes, amfori participated in the consultations to foster alignment between SSCI and amfori BSCI audit requirements. Participants had the opportunity to take part in online workshops and to submit written feedback on the suggested benchmarking criteria.
The Primary Production criteria are expected to be finalised and published in early 2021.
