About the role
As President at amfori you will be:
Reporting to amfori’s Board of Directors, the new President has the overall responsibility for amfori.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading the organisation and taking it to the next level of professionalism and purpose
- Developing, managing and implementing the strategy and defined goals of the organisation
- Providing and enabling thought leadership and practical guidance to members
- Improving the association in every area by empowering, supporting the staff, leading the teams in an engaging and inclusive way
- Stabilising the organisation and establishing a healthy organisation from an employee and membership point of view; s/he may want to revisit reporting lines, structure and processes
- Good understanding of members’ challenges, priorities, issues and needs, driving consensus and alignment in representing small as well as big members; being the voice and face of the entire organisation and bringing all members on-board
- Representing the organisation in membership events, committees and at external events
- Building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders such as political institutions, industry initiatives and research institutions
- Astute communicator; stays close to staff and members; makes him/herself available and communicates with passion, excitement but is also a good observer and listener
- Planning and managing the budget
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate meets all of the following requirements.
Experience
- An experienced CEO with substantial general management and transformation experience
- 10+ years in private sector leadership positions, preferable in different countries/continents
- Understanding of how to lead a member’s organisation and how to influence key stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Human Rights Due Diligence Frameworks, Responsible Supply Chain Management, Social and Environmental standards and related regulatory frameworks
- Exposure/experience in the non-profit sector
- Extensive experience working with diverse cultures; willingness to travel
- Master’s degree from a top-tier university in a relevant field
- A broad professional network
