Business calls for a deal on Trade Facilitation in Bali


FTA and ten other international business associations released a Joint Statement on Trade Facilitation today (21 November 2013). The signatories of this declaration, representing a wide range of industry and service sectors worldwide, strongly call upon the WTO members to successfully conclude the negotiations for an Agreement on Trade Facilitation before the Bali Ministerial (3-6 December).

Such an agreement would significantly reduce trade costs, cut red tape and accelerate the handling of goods at the border and would contribute to the integration of developing countries into global trade. For a decade, the FTA has been closely observing the consultations and interacted with the WTO members to push for an ambitious outcome.
