In recent years, an increasing number of legal initiatives have been passed across Europe and beyond mandating that businesses act responsibly. These initiatives are largely inspired by international standards. The most recent examples include legislation adopted in Germany and Norway and the European Commission’s proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive published in February.
The amfori Sustainability Policy Project Group (SPPG):
- follows due diligence legislative developments and shares intelligence
- advocates on your behalf for an ambitious yet pragmatic regulatory environment
- positions amfori as a key interlocutor in relevant discussions.
To make our work more impactful, we need members willing to share their knowledge and operational experience of supply chain due diligence to engage with us. We are looking to expand our SPPG and hereby invite you to apply to be a member of this group by using the attached application form.
We look forward to receiving your applications by 8 July 2022.
Please send them to: Valentina.email@example.com
The SPPG intends to meet at least twice a year (with ad hoc meetings as required) to discuss and share intelligence on human rights and environmental due diligence policies and regulatory developments. The group will also receive specific information and news. We need representatives from amfori members who are intimately involved with our systems (BEPI and/or BSCI) and know how regulatory developments related to due diligence affect their business. In this way we can better advocate and respond to requests for information by EU policymakers.
