On 17 June 2016, FTA and Spanish corporate responsibility initiative, Forética, communicated their ambitions to join forces to promote the values and principles of social responsibility within companies. This will be achieved following a joint agreement which sets out the associations’ goals to disclose good practices and continuously support and train their members.
Within this framework, on 12 July in Madrid, FTA and Forética will organise an event titled ‘Integrity and transparency in the value chain’. This meeting will enable its participants to analyse targets and opportunities for Spanish companies in responsible supply chain management, placing the spotlight on continuously improving working relations in the workplace in regards to transparency, equality and human rights.
Forética is the leading association of companies and professionals in corporate social responsibility/sustainability in Spain and Latin America. Its mission is to encourage integration of social and environmental sustainability and good corporate governance. Now with over 200 partners, Forética was selected by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development as its only representative in Spain. It is also on the Board of Directors of CSR Europe and in Spain.
On the importance of future collaboration in extending FTA's reach and working to each other's strengths, Christian Ewert, Director General of the FTA, said: “The increasing complexity of global supply chains requires augmented co-operation between the different players to ensure that the impact of corporate social responsibility is positive and long lasting. The agreement with Forética will enable us to combine our efforts to offer more support to Spanish companies faced by real sustainability challenges”
