FTA calls on the European Parliament to Reject the Product Safety Package

The Foreign Trade Association has called on the Members of the European Parliament to reject the European Commission's Product Safety Package Proposal during the voting session on 15 April.

Despite the good intentions of the text, FTA considers the proposed legislation unbalanced and harmful to the competitiveness of European companies. The trade sector is naturally committed to providing consumers with safe goods, but cannot endorse the proposal unless certain provisions clearly detrimental to business, such as the 'made-in' label, long-term documentation storage and full traceability, are removed.
