The Foreign Trade Association (FTA) invites you to read its latest quarterly Trade Perspectives, sharing the latest insight into key trade and commerce dossiers as well as updates on FTA's recent activities in developing free and sustainable trade.
The theme of this issue is the impact of the EU-Turkey Customs Union on trade between Turkey and the European Union. A top story highlights the issues with this now outdated policy framework, despite Turkey's increasing growth as a sourcing market for European businesses, and calls for the European institutions to revamp and modernise this policy to fulfil the potential for accelerated future economic growth.
FTA also sits down with Ambassador Selim Yenel, Permanent Delegate of Turkey to the EU, who shares his insight into the past and present trade relationship between the EU and Turkey. Finally, an overview of key trade statistics presents facts and figures on EU-Turkey trade activities. A significant number of FTA's over 1,500 retailers, importers and brand companies are sourcing from Turkey and FTA will therefore continue to advocate for their interests.
Finally, as well as a round-up of FTA's latest activities, we present an overview of European trade news. To read the FTA Trade Perspectives, click here.
