The Indian government is showing more willingness to straighten regulation on CO2 and to support initiatives in industrial value chains. amfori BEPI would like to be part of the solution.
In May, amfori and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce discussed climate change mitigation in Mumbai with various stakeholders. They addressed the impact of climate change on India and the need for scientists and economists to bridge the gap between knowledge and implementation to develop initiatives to reduce the adverse impact on our environment.
Natasha Majumdar, amfori Network Representative in India said, ‘’amfori BEPI is one such leading global initiative. I am pleased to share that amfori is going to develop training in India regarding energy management.”
amfori will also help develop skills regarding energy management on the production sites, thus saving money and reducing CO2 emissions. The amfori BEPI Carbon Calculator will help producers in determining their CO2 emissions automatically and help them monitor their progress.
