amfori has strengthened its activities in the Italian wine market. This comes with the highly popular first edition of a joint amfori – Equalitas workshop on CSR in the Italian wine industry and the publication of the Italian wine factsheet: environmental hotspots in the Italian Wine Industry. This concludes the series of wine studies, where we previously researched South Africa, Argentina and Chile over the past months.
Alongside the wine study, 30 participants met in the small town of Conegliano, over two days between the 16-17 January in the heart of the prosecco-making region of Veneto. Here, participants discussed the future and challenges of embedding sustainable environmental and social practices in their winemaking activities. Over one hundred applications were received to attend the workshop, such was the demand that a second edition of the workshop will take place on 20-21 March in Castel Bolognese (Emilia Romagna).
In order to strengthen this collaboration, Equalitas and amfori have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in advancing services to improve the social, environmental and economic performance of wine supply chains. The interest in this workshop underlines the importance winemakers are placing on improving their knowledge in the social and environmental performance of their businesses.
