Supporting Women in Turkish Factories

Following the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November, ASAM (Association for the Solidarity for Asylum Seekers and Migrants) delivered training support to several factories based in Istanbul linked to amfori members.

Several workshops were organised in seven selected factories based in Istanbul during these 16 days of activism. With these workshops, amfori and ASAM were able to reach out to 300 female workers including top management. There, they discussed the workers' roles in business, social and home life and what can be done in case they would be faced with violence in any shape or form.

amfori Network Representative, Muge Tuna worked collaboratively with ASAM to reach out to female workers in factories who are registered in amfori BSCI system in Turkey. The workshops were provided by the life skills development officers by ASAM.
